Root Canal Therapy

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy, also known as endodontic treatment, is a procedure used to save a tooth that has become infected or severely decayed. During the procedure, the dentist removes the infected or damaged pulp from the inside of the tooth, cleans and disinfects the root canals, and then fills and seals the space to prevent further infection.

Root canal therapy is often necessary when the pulp inside the tooth becomes inflamed or infected due to deep decay, a cracked tooth, or trauma. Symptoms of pulp infection may include severe toothache, sensitivity to hot or cold, swelling, or a pimple on the gums.

Tooth saving

One of the main benefits of root canal therapy is that it allows you to save the affected tooth. Instead of extracting the tooth, which can be painful and cause additional problems, root canal therapy removes the infection and restores the health of the tooth

Pain relief

Symptoms of a pulp infection, such as severe pain, sensitivity to heat or cold, swelling or a pimple on the gums, can be extremely uncomfortable and debilitating. Root canal therapy relieves pain by eliminating the source of the infection and restoring the health of the tooth.

Preventing complications

Leaving a pulp infection untreated can lead to more serious complications, such as tooth abscesses, widespread infections or tooth loss. Root canal therapy prevents these complications by eliminating the infection and sealing the tooth to prevent future infections.
